Woman accused of killing man with acid remanded

KINGSTON, Jamaica (Observer) — The woman accused of killing a man after he allegedly molested her daughter was refused bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

She is to return to court on October 18.

Teresa Hemmings allegedly threw acid on a 33-year-old man after she accused him of molesting her nine-year-old daughter.

The police said that on Sunday, August 26, Hemmings confronted Chegaskey Baugh, a security guard of Olympic Gardens in St Andrew, and accused him of sexually molesting her little girl.

She then threw a chemical substance on him, causing severe burns to his body.
Baugh was rushed to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
