Channa bomb thrown at Sheriff St business

The police say they are investigating an incident that occurred at about 0245h today where a suspected molotov cocktail was thrown at a building at Sheriff and Garnett Streets, Georgetown.  The building houses the 499 Store, Timiely Store and Amavani Document Centre on the lower flat.

Police say that investigations revealed that businessman Yogonand Goberdhan, 39 years, was aroused by a noise and upon checking found a southern glass window on the lower flat broken and a small fire in the yard.  Pieces of broken glass and a quantity of channa were also recovered at the scene.
