Jamaica broadcaster, other man charged over shooting of Jody-Ann Gray

(Jamaica Gleaner) Broadcaster Wayne Whyte, 44, and another man, 35-year-old Safari Farr both of Harbour View addresses have been charged in connection with the shooting of radio worker Jody-Ann Gray.

A third man is still being questioned.

Whyte who works at Kool 97FM and the other man have been charged with wounding with intent, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

The two were charged a short while ago.

They are to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Gray, 28, who is a colleague broadcaster and girlfriend of Whyte was shot two Wednesdays ago.

Gray who is seven months pregnant was shot as she arrived at her home in Portmore, St Catherine.

Minutes after the shooting, Whyte and the other two men were held near the scene in his car.
