Wife, alleged accomplice charged in scalp murder

Police have charged Hemwattie Abdulla and an alleged accomplice with the murder of overseas-based Guyanese Abdul Majid.

Abdulla who is Majid’s widow and Surojinie Tirmaul of Chesney Village, Corentyne made an appearance in the Springlands Magistrate’s Court this morning.

On April 28, the body of a man was found with his scalp missing and other injuries at the Number 56 Village, Corentyne foreshore. Police had said in a press release that the man was discovered around 7.40 am. The victim wore a silver ring on the left ring finger and was clad in multi-coloured shorts.
