Kitty murder victim had attacked accused with knife, witness testifies

Kwesi Wilson, who was allegedly stabbed to death by accused Eon Williams, had earlier attacked the man with a knife, a witnessed testified on Thursday.

Natasha Daniels, who is the sister in-law of Williams, and James Jermaine Henry were the two prosecution witnesses that testified when Williams’ trial continued on Thursday in the court of Justice Roxane George at the High Court. After their testimony, both witnesses were cross-examined by defence counsel Clement Richardson.

Williams is accused of murdering Kwesi Wilson at Kitty in 2007.

Both witnesses stated that Wilson and Williams were seen arguing on the bridge of another friend, Kurt Lachish, on the night of the incident.

Daniels stated in her testimony that Wilson had pushed Williams after he told him to move from in front of his face. A fight then ensued, which resulted in Wilson pulling a knife from his waist and thrusting it at Williams. Williams then used his hands to prevent Wilson from injuring him with the knife, Daniels stated. Wilson then left by jumping her back fence while Williams went home.

The trial will continue next Monday at the scene of the crime, at Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, after Justice George granted a request by the prosecution for a visit to the location. The last state witness will take the stand next Tuesday.
