T&T man dies after 5 bullets to the head

(Trinidad Express) The murder toll climbed to 229 last night with a murder in Marabella.

Earlier yesterday, there was also another murder in Diego Martin which police described as a gang related homicide.

Police said around 12.30 a.m., Henry Thomas, 25, was standing near his Farm Road, Richplain Road home when he was approached by a gunman who opened fire on him.

Thomas was hit five times on his head and was killed instantly.

Neighbours later telephoned the police and a team of officers including Insp Henry Dann visited the scene and conducted enquiries.

A post mortem done yesterday morning at the Forensic Science Centre, St James concluded that Thomas died as a result of gunshot wounds.

In the latest murders yesterday, a man believed to be a Jamaican national was shot at Sooknanan Street, Marabella.

He died while being treated at the San Fernando General Hospital.

At around 4 p.m, residents told police they heard gun shots and looked out to see a man lying on the street in a pool of blood. He was taken by police to hospital where he died.

And in Belmont last night there was a shooting in which a woman was injured. She was undergoing emergency surgery at hospital last night.
