Teen labourer on bail over simple larceny

Teenage labourer Brian Leitch was yesterday placed on bail after he denied committing a simple larceny.

Leitch, 18, of Lot 2118 Diamond Housing Scheme, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, which heard that on August 25, he stole $19,140, which was the property of Nadira Budhira.

No details of what transpired on the day in question were provided to the court.

Leitch, who was unrepresented, applied for reasonable bail and the prosecution had no objection.

Magistrate Octive-Hamilton then set bail for the accused at $25,000 bail.

The case was transferred to Court One for October 29.
