Laparkan Trading giving back to customers to mark 30th anniversary

As it nears its 30th anniversary, Laparkan Trading Guyana Air and Ocean Department has started the celebration early by giving back to its customers.

Genuine Lance Gibbs Cricket balls were randomly distributed yesterday to customers who were waiting to conduct various transactions. In addition, the company held the drawing for a promotion it held during GuyExpo 2012.

According to Yonette Jeffers, the company’s Sales Manager, persons would have been able to fill out and deposit vouchers containing their names, phone numbers and email addresses. Several names were drawn in random order by a combination of staff and random customers.

Some of the lucky winners of this promotion will be receiving a US$20 coupon, which can be used for any shipping transaction while others will receive genuine Lance Gibbs cricket balls. Winners of the drawings are to be contacted subsequently to collect their prizes.

Jeffers also stated that with Christmas around the corner, the company is positioning itself to ensure that customers are able to transact their business with as little hassle as possible. “Better arrangements and more staff have been put in place to increase the company’s efficiency,” Jeffers said.

She also revealed that the process to collect barrels has also been modified so as to decrease the time customers have to spend clearing their shipments. She further stated that their brokerage department will also be clearing and providing shipping of barrels for customers who sometimes find it difficult to find the time to do it themselves.

Oscar Phillips, the company’s General Manager, stated that it has made several other significant changes to improve the service provided to its customers. He said that Laparkan “has continued to innovate to provide better services in shipping of Com-mercial Cargo as well as Loose Cargo Loads (LCL) Cargo.”

The company recently increased its operational capacity in August, following the unveiling of its 166,000 square foot warehouse and corporate facility in Miami, which it says will expand capabilities and heighten efficiencies.
