Three MMC staffers injured in accident at Robb St

An accident involving a Toyota Hilux, belonging to the MMC Security Services, and a Toyota Camry, at the intersection of Robb and Wellington streets, left both vehicles badly damaged and three people hospitalized.

Up to press time last evening the three seriously injured persons, two men and a woman named Sonia Payne, all employees of the MMC Security Services, were stable but were scheduled to receive x-rays.

“When we bring them hay dey did crying out for dey head and dey back,” one of their colleagues said. “Some a de rest a we geh injure but we ting is just some minor scratches an suh so we alright.”

The man explained that their vehicle was moving along Wellington and was carrying six passengers. He stated that as the truck attempted to cross Robb Street, it was broadsided by a silver Toyota Camry which was moving along Robb Street. This was around 19:50 hrs.

“I ain’t exactly know where he come from,” the man said, “but all of a sudden I just see de man pull out and run right into we. He knock we right in de middle of the road to.”

The man went on to state that when their vehicle was hit, some of the weapons they were carrying were scattered all over the road. “Dem weapons dem went all over de place so we did hustling fuh pick up all of them, cause we didn’t want no trouble,” he added.

The man speculated that there were two persons in the Toyota Camry at the time of the accident, both of whom seemed not to have sustained any significant injuries.

“Is about two of them in the car,” another occupant of the Hilux said. “I didn’t really see properly cause I did hustlin fuh pick up dem weapons. Me ain’t think nothing really happen to them man, because when de accident happen dey come out dey car and start one cuss up.”
