(Trinidad Express) Kissondaye Bhanoo, 53, and her husband Alfred Mohammed, 56, were knocked down and killed while crossing Uriah Butler Highway, near the Divali Nagar site in Chaguanas last night.
The accident occurred on the north-bound lane around 8.30 p.m.
Police believe the couple were on their way to attend the Divali Nagar celebrations on the other side of the highway.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash.
The accident caused a massive traffic pile-up on the highway.
The road death fatality toll stood at 153 with these two deaths last night.
