Brothers on assault charges after property disput

Troy and Huburn Duncan, who both reside at Lot 225 Middle Road, La Penitence, were charged before Magistrate Leron Daley with unlawfully assaulting each other.

Attorney Paul Fung-a-Fat, who represented Huburn, said that on Sunday the two had a quarrel over a property, which resulted in them assaulting each other. He, however, added that his client related to him that they would not like to provide evidence against each other, preferring to settle the matter. Both men subsequently took the stand and swore no one pressured or threatened them into their decision.

They were placed on a two-year bond to keep the peace and to be on good behaviour.

The matter was called at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
