Three charged over shooting of Berbice taxi driver

A 15-year-old boy and two other persons yesterday appeared before Magistrate Khrisndat Persaud at the Springlands Magistrate’s court over the shooting of a taxi driver.

The 15-year-old (who cannot be named for legal reasons), Doodraj Dass, 20, a salesman of Rampoor Street, Springlands  and Azam Bacchus, 17, a labourer of 76 housing scheme were  charged with attempted murder and robbery under arms on Corentyne taxi driver, Jermaine Rover.

The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the virtual complainant is still hospitalized in the ICU at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, the
