Jamaica public defender held up and robbed

(Jamaica Gleaner) The public defender Earl Witter has been held up and robbed reportedly by armed men.

Our sources say Witter was on Connolly Avenue near Allman Town, Kingston when he was approached by two men who held him up and demanded his gold chain.

The men reportedly escaped with the item of jewellery in a car.

It is understood that Witter sustained a few bruises in the incident after resisting attempts by the men to take his gold bracelet too.

Witter told The Gleaner/Power 106 News that he had gone to the location to collect items of clothing from a dry-cleaning outlet and was returning to his car when he was held up.

He has made a report to the Allman Town Police and also the Criminal Investigation Bureau at the Kingston Central Police Station in downtown Kingston.
