Taxi driver placed on self bail over abusive language

A taxi driver was released on self bail over the use of abusive language when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, yesterday.

Dennis Yarris, of 558 ‘C’ Field Sophia pleaded not guilty to the use of abusive language when the charge was read to him by  Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in Court 1.

It was alleged that on November 18, Yarris used abusive language to Zaskia Lungu, whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned.
No particulars were given in court regarding the case.

The prosecution had no objection to bail, which was granted. Yarris was also placed on a bond to keep the peace. The matter will continue on November 28 in Court 10.
