Ramotar visits Marriott hotel construction site

President Donald Ramotar on December 9, 2012, visited the Marriott hotel construction site in Kingston, Georgetown for the first time.

In a brief comment, he said that, “a lot has been accomplished already; the contour of a beautiful edifice is taking shape.”

In late 2011, former President Bharrat Jagdeo turned the sod for the construction of this over US$50M investment which will see Guyana being home to an international brand.

The project was projected to create hundreds of jobs in the construction phase, and beyond when it becomes operational.

Completion of this 160-room hotel and entertainment complex and start of commercial operations is scheduled for February 2014.
