Suspect in robbery plot gets bail

Charlton Hudson, the suspect in an armed robbery plot, was released on $150,000 bail yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on December 17, in Ruimveldt, Hudson, armed with a gun, conspired with others to rob Michael Joseph.

No further details of the allegations against him were given to the court.

After there was no objection from the prosecution, Magistrate Leron Daley initially set bail at $200,000. But Hudson’s lawyer, Gordon Gilhuys, asked the magistrate to be lenient with his client because the man had two minor children.

As a result, bail was reduced to $150,000.

The case is to be called again on the January 7, in     Court 2.
