Diamond family loses $8.5M, jewels in hold-up

Police are probing a report that at about 2010h on Monday, Christina Dinoon, 39 years, and her thirteen-year-old daughter were about to enter their home at Diamond Housing Scheme, EBD, when they were held up by two men armed with handguns.

Police say that the armed men took them into the home where they were both tied up, after which the men ransacked the house and took away $8.5M, a quantity of gold jewellery and a cell phone and fled.

The family declined to speak yesterday when contacted by Stabroek News.
