Every resident within the Aurora Good Intent Community, or even beyond, would by now have become accustomed to seeing a yellow Kobelco SK 2010 Long Boom Excavator parked at Good Intent, near to the chimney built in colonial times, and what is said or believed to be the oldest and most visible landmark in Region Two.
The question that is being asked is why a machine that is so vital in the drainage and irrigation system, that cost the taxpayers of this country about $35,000,000 has to be stationary there for the better part of four months, and security has to be provided for it twenty-four hours a day. In the meantime, other areas in this region have experienced serious flooding caused by overtopping of the sea dams during the spring tides. The farmers also have similar experiences.
Information received from a usually reliable source, suggests that this machine that is less than two years old, is in good working order, but the operator withdrew his services and the Regional Administration has so far been unsuccessful in its effort to recruit another. It was, however, unclear how many more hours/days/weeks or months this valuable piece of equipment would be lying here.
