Moore was the Fidel Castro of art

Dear Editor,

Only a revolutionary thinker could have conceived the 1763 Monument and executed it.  Philip Moore was a fusion of nationalism and revolutionary.  He was a Fidel Castro of Art.  He pointed out to me symbols of oppression in Georgetown and said to me that until these symbols are removed we will not be free of oppression.  He dreamt of a Second Independence not symbolized by changing of flags but the realism of persons experiencing freedom in themselves.

Yours faithfully,
