What about the Diamond road works?

Dear Editor,

The road work at Diamond began over four months ago and only a part of the work has been done; the grading of the old streets and filling in the red loam. I am making reference to the three streets with the three crosses in Avenues A and B. The parapets have been built, and a section of one street has been strewn with crushed stones.

Works, since then, have been suspended, the machines are lying idle and the rains will soon arrive.

Could someone in the relevant position follow-up on this situation?

If the rains come and the works are not completed, you could very well imagine the slush that will be created by the now loose loam in the streets.

I have realized that oft times some contractors like to attempt to build roads when the weather is bad. These few contractors, in my opinion, do not try to take advantage of good weather.

The residents are concerned about the time span that this work is stretched to. Is it a case that the money is finished, or is it the difficulty in obtaining materials?

We the residents would like to know.

Yours faithfully,
