In the absence of the municipal authorities the only hope is divine intervention

Dear Editor,

I noticed in SN’s edition of November 30 Mr Romeo Ramdehol wrote about Queenstown and the insouciance of the residents about protesting the decimation which has taken place there (‘Businesses are operating in Queenstown in defiance of the bylaws’).

Please be advised that for well over ten years I tried unsuccessfully to have the relevant authorities remove a bush truck business next to my property, with no positive action ever being taken. A few months ago when I thought that the ordeal was over, the trucks were replaced by a forty-foot trailer which is parked on the parapet and has now become a home for an employee.

Needless to say I have brought this to the attention of the relevant authorities, but yet again this is an exercise in futility.
I am now hoping for divine intervention.

Yours faithfully,
L Narain
