Development Team in lead at Banks DIH Beach Football

The third round of the Banks DIH Beach Football saw improved performances on Sunday in Linden with two games ending in a draw while Cool Runnings and Silver Shattas dominated their matchups against Top 25 and Wisroc respectively.

Game one set the tone for the rest of the evening with the Development Team and Vasco playing to a 6-6 draw. Ryan Crandon recorded a hat-trick in the 12th, 15th, and 24th minutes for the Development team while Allester Johnson (2’ and 28’) and Randy Small (4th) supported. Vasco’s goals came off the boots of Trevorn Frank (3rd and 26th minutes), Michael Wilson (4th and 13th), Jason Allicock (25th).

Crandon scored an own goal in the 27th minute.

Game two also ended in a 4-4 stalemate between Eagles and Blueberry Hill. Deon Charter also netted a hat-trick in the 12th, 19th and 27th minutes while Derron Smith stitched one in the 16th minute for Eagles. Blueberry Hill’s Brinzley Warde (14th), Kearon Noble (15th), Devon Caesar (20th) and Troy Miller (21st) found the back of the net.

In the third matchup Cool Runnings, who suffered a loss and finished in a draw in their two previous games, bounced back to outplay Top 25 9-3. For Cool Runnings, Rawle Gittens scored three goals in the 5th, 11th, and 18th minutes. Steve Brewley also scored a hat-trick, recording goals in the 16th, 17th, and 23rd minutes.

Kennard Simon (13th and 22nd) and Delon Charter (1st and 23rd) netted doubles and Sean Brewley hit one in the 9th minute. Top 25’s goals were scored by Keith Bailey.

Game four was another one-sided affair as Silver Shattas thrashed Wisroc 11-1. Silver Shattas’ Colwyn David netted six goals in the 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 13th, 24th and 25th minutes, Dishawn Freemon (8th and 23rd) and Vouwayne Hamilton (25th and 27th) recorded doubles and Damion Williams needled in the 4th minute. Wisroc’s consolation goal came from Keon Fogenay in the 28th minute.

Meanwhile, after three rounds the Development Team leads the points table on seven points, Vasco has five, Cool Runnings, Top 25 and Blueberry Hill have four, Eagles and Silver Shattas are on three apiece. Wisroc is yet to record a point.

The tournament continues on Thursday.
