Mashramani Challenge Cup set to kick off

From 8pm Pele Football Club will engage Netrockers in the feature match while Victoria Kings will oppose Uitvlugt at 6pm in the opening game in a match up between East Coast and West Demerara teams.

The absence of competitive football since the culmination of the Kashif and Shanghai and the President’s Beer finals at the National Stadium and GFC respectively on New Year’s Day means that the clubs will obviously be raring for action.

City-starved football fans can therefore expect an evening of classical and entertaining football from the four teams each of whom are seeking to advance to the quarterfinals.

Over $1,000,000 in cash incentives, trophies, medals and individual prizes are at stake.

The winning team, runners-up and third and fourth-placed teams will take home $500,000, $300,000, $150,000 and $50,000 respectively.

Ming’s Products and Services; German’s Restaurant, Ram’s Pharmacy, Cell Shop and Lingerie Shop are among the major sponsors along with the Kashif and Shanghai Organization.
