Guyanese under-19 all rounder Riad Ali turned in a fine all round performance against Fatima to land the North Zone 40-over title.
Batting first Sweet Revenge made 225 for six off their 40 overs with Glenford Alexander getting a top score of 48. Also among the runs were Ali, 36, and the consistent Rudolph Moore, 42.
In reply Fatima was no match for Zainool Shah’s team, as they struggled to 144 all out in 28 overs. Top-scoring for Fatima was J Carimbocus who scored an even 50. Ali was almost unplayable taking three for 16.
Shah, speaking after the win said his players had worked hard in the pre-season and deserved the win.
