Edwards starts Dolphins stint on losing note

DURBAN, South Africa, CMC – West Indies speedster Fidel Edwards made a losing start to life with the Dolphins in the MiWay Twenty20 Challenge as they went down by 10 wickets to Warriors at Kingsmead here Friday night.

The Dolphins, still without injured marquee hitter Chris Gayle, slumped to 100 for eight after opting to bat first and then could do little as Warriors openers cruised in their run chase.

Ashwell Prince finished with an unbeaten 52 while JJ Smuts stroked 43 not out.
Edwards, who made a late decision to join the Dolphins, sent down three economical overs which cost 15 runs but was unable to wreak any havoc.

Earlier, Dolphins were undermined by former Test pacer Makhaya Ntini who brilliantly to take three for 12 from his four overs.
