East Ruimveldt swamp St Stanislaus 10-0

Newcomers Central High School suffered a 1-0 defeat against Lodge Secondary Scotia Bank-Pepsi School football tournament following last Saturday’s match at the Georgetown Football Club, ground.

Central High held its own until Monique King netted in the 43rd minute during a goalmouth scrimmage.

East Ruimveldt on the attack against St. Stanisaus College in their match of the Scotia Bank-Pepsi schools football tournament.

St. Stanislaus College were on the receiving end going down to East Ruimveldt Secondary 10-0.

East Ruimveldt’s Ronald Gittens scored four goals in the match but it was Craig Hughes who scored the opener in the 24th minute.

Gittens went came into his own with his first goal in the 25th minute. Thereafter, he was on target in the 32nd, 37th and 50th minutes.

Joshua Fiffee scored in the 34th, Travil Preport in the 35th, Ahmad Stephens in the 55th, Ashmaile Barrington in the 68th and a defence error accounted for the remaining goal.

Play continues Saturday with Tutorial High coming up against Tucville Secondary in a girls game, while Queens College will do battle with Tucville in a boys match.

Kick off is at 09:30 hours.

Eleven teams are competing in boys division while eight girls teams are battling for supremacy in the second Annual Scotia Bank-Pepsi Schools Football academy for Under-15 secondary schools.
