Social Sciences in big hitting win

University of Guyana Inter-Faculty Twenty20 defending Champions, Social Sciences batted their way to a positive start to the 2012 Inter-Faculty T20 tournament yesterday on the campus ground.

Social Sciences (SS) demonstrated big hitting against Agriculture and Forestry (AF) while AF gifted 39 extras to SS’s total of 171-6 off 20 overs.

Delvon McWean struck a quick fire 28 runs while Melroy Stevenson blasted his way to 26 runs. Captain of the team Kenroy Joseph then steered the innings to an end with an unbeaten 23.

Replying to SS’s huge total, AF fell to a dismal 29 all out as Soopaul Sanichar took 7 wickets for 17 runs off four overs as his left arm spin confused the AF batsmen.

Ojaski Kandhi was AF’s top scorer with 10 runs in a poor  performance by the faculty.
In the second match-up of the day Technology gained a walkover victory as Health Sciences forfeited the game.

Meanwhile today’s games will see Natural Sciences doing battle with Education while Tain will go up against Staff.
