Bayrock blazes through to quarter-finals

Bayrock Blazers defeated Farm X1 of East Bank Demerara by six wickets in the feature match of the day while Mahaica Raiders defeated Rising Stars Super Sixers by five wickets in the other male clash.

In female action, Trophy Stall Angels scored a 96-run win over Capoey Rising stars while 4R Lioness tamed Capoey Regal Warriors by 37 runs.

In the Blazers/Farm encounter, Farm, batting first, scored 111-3 with Avenash Sookdeo top scoring with 45 while Shoaib Mohamed and Patrick Khan were unbeaten on 25 and 20 respectively.

Bayrock Blazers eventually reached their target in 9.1 overs with Kevin Sullivan 23 not out and Shawn Adams 21 not out seeing their team home.

And Rising Stars Super Sixers in their match against Mahaica Raiders, batted first, and mustered 73-7 off their 10 overs.

Ravin Dusraj top scored with 24 while Andy Ramnarine and Jerome Ramnauth scored 10 each.

In reply, Mahaica Raiders raced to their target for the loss of only five wickets.

Jagdesh Persaud scored an unbeaten 20 while Rohit Dutchin scored 15 and opening batsman, Marvin Bobb, 11.

In the female encounter, Capoey Rising Stars were dismissed for a paltry 34 in reply to

Trophy Stall Angels total of 130-3 off 10 overs which saw June Ogle scoring 56 not out and Kavita Yardarm, 33.

Capoey Rising Stars batter Romey Persaud is about to be caught by successful bowler Tanisha Isahack who ended with 4-4.

In Capoey Rising Stars’ reply, Tanisha Isahack was almost unplayable ending with 4-4 while Alicia Allen chipped in with 2-3.

Coretta Alves scored  15.

In the other game, 4R Lioness mauled Capoey Regal Warriors by 37 runs.

Capoey Regal Warriors scored 75-3 off their 10 overs in reply to 4R Lioness’ score of 112-1.

Sittonette Alli was the tops corer with 41 not out while Captain and player of the match Tracy Glasglow led from the front for 4R Lioness with 49 not out. Gangadhai Singh made an unbeaten 34.
