Regal, Wolf Warriors favoured as GGFSCA Hadi’s softball quarters get cracking today

The Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) Hade’s sponsored softball tournament is fast coming to a close and a number of exciting clashes will take place today when quarter-final action of the tournament commences from 9am at the Cyril Potter College ground.

In the opening game from 9am on pitch number one, Trophy Stall `A’ will oppose Die Hard while two hours later Regal will oppose Celebrity Times. The winners of these two quarter final games will clash in the first semi-final at 1pm.

Trophy Stall`A’  is favoured to get past Die Hard and will look to all rounder Mark Harold to play a pivotal role with both bat and ball while regal, whose top batsman is the formidable Patrick Rooplall, should get the better of Celebrity Times.

On pitch number two, at 9am, Memorex, with Tony Amerally to the fore, will oppose Trophy Stall `B’ while at 11am, Wolf Warriors, whose batting revolves around Amit Jairam, will take on Affiance Storm with the two winning teams meeting at 1pm in the semi-final.

In the female category at 3pm on pitch number one, Wellwoman will clash with Rising Stars while on pitch number two, from 3pm, Trophy Stall Angels will throw down the gauntlet to Fazal Kayume Angels and at 4pm 4R Lioness will clash with Enterprise Stars.

The final of the three category tournament is set for Saturday from 10am at the Ministry of Education ground (formerly Softball ground) on Carifesta Avenue.

The tournament commenced on January 22 and is organised and managed by the GFSCA.
