Twenty seven teams will compete in today’s `Jumbie and Pumpkin’ dominoes tournament which takes place at the Bluebirds headquarters, 1222 Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt. The event, which is expected to attract a number of the country’s top clubs, will commence at 1.30pm. According to senior organizing secretary of the Guyana National Dominoes Federation (GNDF) Mark Wiltshire, over $200,000 in cash and other prizes will be up for grabs in the two-day tournament.
The winning team will take home a whopping $120,000 and a trophy while the runners-up will receive $60,000 and the t
eam placing third $30,000.
Some of the teams expected to participate in today’s tournament are Mix-up, C7, Robb Street Strikers, F&H Supreme and Turning Point.
Entrance fee is $10,000.
