KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – West Indies were yesterday still sweating on the arrival of Narsingh Deonarine after the Guyanese left-hander remained stuck here waiting on a travel visa for the United Kingdom.

While fellow countryman Assad Fudadin secured his visa and left for England on Tuesday evening, Deonarine remained here still waiting on further clearance in order to travel.

No timeline has been given for the issuing of the visa and West Indies officials are unsure when Deonarine will be able to join the touring party.

It is now unlikely that Deonarine will arrive in England in time for the second and final tour-match, a four-day fixture against England Lions which bowls off today in Northampton, leaving him without a single match before the opening Test starting May 17th at Lord’s.

Deonarine turned out for Kingston Cricket Club last weekend in the Senior Cup competition here, scoring a half-century and taking a 10-wicket match haul in a drawn match against Lucas. He was expected to be in line for Test selection after encouraging performances against Australia in the three-Test series last month.
