Education teaches foreign affairs football lesson

On Wednesday, four matches in the Inter Ministries/Corporations’ seven-a-side tournament were played at the Banks DIH Thirst Park ground and the Education Ministry whipped its counterparts at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

In the first game, Ministry of Education defeated Ministry of Foreign Affairs 5-2. Robert David, Chriswell Williams and Kurt Braithwaite were the goal scorers for the education ministry. Goals were scored in the 7th, 9th, 17th, 18th and 21st minutes.  Gavin Decosta was the lone goal scorer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the 27th and 28th minutes of the game.

New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation (NGPC) challenged the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) but lost a 2-4 battle. Lionel Grimes, Carlos Mowklouse and Ronnie Squires scored in the 6th, 10th, 15th and 24th minutes for the GRA. Ken Agard and Kenneth Jackson scored for GPC in the 5th and 27th minutes.

In the last game of the night Media United shared the field with Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and won 1-nil. Lionel Jackson scored for Media United in the 1st minute of the game.

Tomorrow, John Fernandes will take on the Ministry of Education, NGPC will play Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company and GNS Electrical will come up against the Ministry of Public Works. Games will kick off at 1:30 pm sharp.
