No confidence motion moved against John

ROSEAU, Dominica,  CMC – Dominica Football Association president, Patrick John has been suspended for the remainder of his term after an overwhelmingly vote by clubs at the Annual General Conference here Saturday.

The clubs voted unanimously by 24 votes to seven, to have John suspended. His tenure was due to end in 2015.

John, a former Dominica prime minister, was also suspended by FIFA’s Ethics Committee for his role in the cash-for-votes scandal which rocked Caribbean football in last year.

The latest move means John will not return to the DFA once his FIFA imposed suspension comes to an end in 2013.

John’s exit paves the way for first vice president, Glen Etienne, to assume full control of the DFA.

Etienne had been the acting president since John was suspended by FIFA.

John was elected in 2010 to serve another four- year term.
