Waramdong Secondary looking to turn the tables on Wismar/ Christianburg

When the two teams met last year in the semi-finals of the Digicel Nationwide Schools Football Competition Wismar/Christianburg showed their superiority on the way to winning the match and advancing to the finals.

This year, Region Seven Champs, Waramdong Secondary, after hammering Bygeval Secondary by 12 goals to one in their semi-final clash on Friday will enter today’s final with revenge on their minds after getting a second opportunity to play Wismar/Christianburg.

The two teams will battle in the final of the Digicel Schools competition at the Police Sports club ground, Eve Leary.

Waramdong Secondary will rely heavily on Cirilo George who banged in six goals against the hapless Bygeval team in the semis.

He will be supported by midfielder McCurd Crammer, Kenzy George, Myles Albert and Armon Fredericks with Gerald Isaacs performing duties within the uprights.

Wismar/Christianburg will look to continue the Mining Town’s tradition in soccer, which includes producing players of the caliber of Bunny Antony, Neville `Zipper’ Johnson and more recently Collie `Hitman’ Hercules to name a few.

In attempting to show that last year’s win was no fluke Wismar/Christianburg will depend heavily on central defender, Travin Byden with support from Yannick Simon, Marmalique Davidson, Alan Halley and Ezra Ashby.

The third place playoff will be between Bygeval and St. Ignatius.
