Junior Jaguars go under 0-2 to T/dad

Guyana’s Junior Jaguars went down to Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 as the Trinidadians ended the four-nation Group playoff unbeaten to advance to the next round of the CFU/CONCACAF Under-17 World Cup qualification tournament.

Playing in their final match of the Group at the Haseley Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Saturday the host team netted a goal in each half to end the tournament with an unblemished record.

Josiah Trimmingham converted  in the 21st minute as the Trinidadians took a 1-0 lead at half time.
The second goal came in the 71st minute when Brandon Creed found the back of the net.

The Junior Jaguars goalkeeper Jason Cromwell was outstanding in goal while defender marshaled the Guyanese defence with authority.

Trinidad and Tobago ended the tournmament with  a 23-0 victory over British Virgin Islands, 3-1 over Suriname and 2-0 win against Guyana.

Guyana hammered home 13 goals in their lone win against BVI but went down  to Suriname 3-1.
Franklyn Parks scored six goals in the tournament for Guyana including five against the BVI.

The final round of CFU qualifiers will include the five qualifying group winners, as well as the top second-place team.
The top three teams from the qualifiers will advance to the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship, which will be held in Panama early next year.

Meantime, the top three teams from the Panama play-off will qualify for the Under-17 World Cup Finals, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates in summer next year.

The Junior Jaguars were due to return home yesterday.
