Mohammed wins Courts golf tourney

Dave Mohamed, Secretary of the Lusignan Golf Club won the Courts Guyana Inc. 19th Anniversary Golf Tournament as two former champions were among prize winners Saturday at the Lusignan Course.

In a truly festive atmosphere Mohamed had much to celebrate when he shot net 63 from gross 84 playing off 21 handicap in ideal conditions to triumph in the Medal Play tournament which attracted 36 players.

Joaan Deo, the 2009 winner copped the second position with net 65 (gross 86 handicap 21) in another entertaining performance.

Rawle Moore (14-79-65), Club Captain placed third with also net 65 but he was edged out by Deo on a countback.

Moore also had the second best gross coming out behind 2011 Courts winner Patrick Prashad who gross was 76.

Former Guyana Open champion Imran Khan was nearest to the pin while Gavin Todd had the longest drive. The tournament was attended by Courts Guyana Inc. Managing Director Clyde DeHass, Marketing Director Molly Hassan and Marketing officials Tamara Rodney and Kester Abrams as the local furniture giants celebrate their 19th Anniversary of operations in Guyana.
