Neal and Massy Limited overs competition… D’Andrade slams first ton in Bermine win

Bermine’s Anthony D’Andrade last weekend slammed the first century of the 2012 Neal and Massy Intermediate limited overs competition in Berbice.

The former Guyana Under-19 batsman scored 106 not out as Bermine defeated Police by seven wickets at the Cumberland ground, Canje.

Police had earlier made a challenging 213 from 49 overs with Albert Sinclair top scoring with 60.

D’Andrade and Shepherd De Jonge, who made 66, put on an unbroken 169 runs partnership for the fourth wicket after Bermine had slipped to 49-3 in their run chase.

D’Andrade struck 11 fours and 2 sixes while DeJonge’s innings contained seven fours.

At Blairmont, Derrick Lalsa’s 66 an innings which included six fours and one six, helped Blairmont Community Center defeat Bush Lot United New Generation by 109 runs.

Blairmont Community Centre scored 278 with former Guyana Under-19 pacer, Keyron Fraser taking 4 for 13 from five overs.
Bush Lot, in reply, reached 169 despite a fighting 64 from Asif Khan.

At Cumberland, Bermine beat Police by seven wickets. Police won the toss and batted, scoring 213 all out in 49 overs with Albert Sinclair 60, Charles Grimmond 25 and Rocky Hutson 24. Romario Shepherd-DeJonge 3-52, Julian Moore 2-21 and Niall Smith 2-25.

At Blairmont, Blairmont Community Centre beat Bush Lot United New Generation by 109 runs. Blairmont Community Centre won the toss and bated  making a formidable 278 for 8 from 46 overs. Derrick Lalsa, 66, Altaf Khan 43, Deveshwari Prashad 43 and Avishkar Sewkarran 23. Keyron Fraser, 4 for 13, Brentnol Woolford, 2-38.

At Edinburgh, Young Warriors beat Edinburgh by eight wickets. Edinburgh batted first and made a paltry 108 all out in 33.2 overs.

In reply, Young Warriors, 109 for 2 in 14.4 overs. Mortimer Fraser 37.

At No 70 Ground, Kim IL Sung beat No. 70 Young Strikers by four wickets. No 70 won the toss, batted and scored 150 in 37.1 overs. Chatterpaul Lionel led the way with 33 and he was supported by Naeem Yacoob 29, Alvin Haniff 25 and Thameshwar Ramoutar 21. Jermin Reid took 3 for 24 and Tulsiram Munessar 2 for 19. Kim IL Sung replied with 153 for six in 31.1 overs. Eric Phillips, 45 n.o, Rabindra Singh, 29, and Clavern Beresford 22. Omesh Kumar took 3 for 22.

Zone D (Upper Corentyne) No. 70 Young Stars vs. Skeldon Community Centre at No. 70; No. 71 vs. Kim IL Sung at No 71
