Two Jamaican athletes face disciplinary action for doping

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC-Two Jamaican athletes are facing disciplinary action after testing positive for doping, media reports here have said
The athletes are 4×400 metres relay pool member Dominique Blake and national 800 metres champion Ricardo Cunningham.

A preliminary hearing began in Kingston yesterday for Blake and Cunningham over doping violations returned by the pair at Jamaica’s Senior Championships in June.

Cunningham is reported to have tested positive for the substance pseudoephedrine.
It was not immediately clear for what substance Blake tested positive.

Cunningham, who trains with the MVP track Club in Jamaica, appeared in person at the hearing while Blake, who previously served a nine-month ban, sent a representative.

They are due to reappear on October 17. Blake went to the Olympics as part of the 4X400m relay team but did not run.
Cunningham however did not qualify to go to the Olympics.

Last November, former Jamaican relay world champion Steve Mullings was banned for life from competing in athletics after a second doping offense.
