Roraima Bikers super cycling weekend commences today

The Roraima Bikers Club’s super cycling weekend gets underway today with the annual Troy Humphrey Memorial event and concludes tomorrow with the Digicel Cancer Breast Awareness meet.

The country’s top cyclists are all expected to be in action today and tomorrow especially in view of the fact that super cash prizes will be at stake.

The event gets underway this morning from 9am with the 15th annual

Troy Humphrey Memorial event sponsored by Humphrey’s Bakery &  Farm products Limited.

The feature event of today’s meet will be the 25 lap events for categories one to four, a race where lucrative cash prizes are at stake according to the organizers.

There will also be a 20 lap race for juveniles/juniors; a veterans under-50 years six lap event; a veterans over -50 years six lap event; a mountain bike Open and BMX races for boys and girls along with threes laps team time trials.

Tomorrow’s event will take place around the outer circuit of the National Park and it commences at 9am.

The event will get underway with a one lap Breast cancer awareness ride to be followed by the main event a 25-lap race around the outer circuit of the National Park where the first six finishers will receive prizes.

There will be a number of incentives prizes including cell phones and among the cyclists expected to be on show today are current National and Caribbean Junior Champion, Paul De Nobrega and Caribbean Juvenile Champion Michael Anthony.
