The Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) closes off its year of activities this weekend with the National Open Amateur championship to be held at the Banks DIH Parking lot.
GABA’s president Steve Ninvalle said a number of boxers are scheduled to fight including the four amateurs who appeared on the Pro Am cardlast month organized by the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC).
Among the boxers expected to trade punches are: Imran Khan, Eon Bancroft, Stephan Gouveia, Rayan Jeffers, Laured Stewart, Ron Smith and Dellon Charles.
National Champions will be crowned in ten categories: Junior Flyweight, Flyweight, Bantamweight, Lightweight, Junior welterweight, Welterweight, Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, Heavyweight and Super heavyweight.
The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) are defending champions.
