Tucville Primary drub Company Road Primary 7-0

Tucville Primary School drubbed Company Road Primary by seven goals to nil to record their second victory of the inaugural Chico/Kashif and Shanghai Under-13 schools football tournament which continued yesterday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.

The young ball weavers from the Tucville institution followed up  their 1-0 victory over Grove Primary on the opening day of the tournament on Saturday by thoroughly outplaying their Company Road counterparts.

A helmet-trick by Jeremy Hackett (11th, 16th, 30th and 34th minutes) and a hat-trick by Ryan Hackett, (6th, 13th and 29th minutes) completed Tucville’s goal fest.

The game was so one-sided that Tucville’s goalkeeper, in the latter moments of the game was seen leading the offense and could even have scored on two occasions but failed to find the back of the net.

Tucville’s victory was however marred by a protest as it was alleged that one of their players is over the stipulated age and was attending a secondary school.

West Ruimveldt Primary, Grove Primary and Uitvlugt Primary also recorded victories in their round robin games.

West Ruimveldt needled BV Quamina Primary, 1-0 after Israel Yaw scored in the third minute while Grove Primary defeated Soesdyke Primary on Shaun Dominique’s 29th minute penalty. Soesdyke’s goalkeeper, Tyrel Khan, was brilliant between the uprights saving four penalties but was unable to prevent Dominique from scoring.

Uitvlugt Primary defeated St Gabriel’s Primary after Shamar Hartman (30th minute) and David Blake (35th minute) buried second half goals.

The tournament continues tomorrow at the same venue and concludes on January 1.
