3 Idiots on at Indian Cultural Centre

Members of the public are invited to see the comedy 3 Idiots at the Indian Cultural Centre, Lot 67 New Haven , Bel Air, Georgetown on Saturday 25 August, 2012 from 5.30pm.

Rajkumar Hirani’s 2009 hilarious film tells the story of three college students. Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) and Ranchoddas Shamaldas “Rancho” Chanchad (Aamir Khan) who are studying engineering although each one of them has his own dreams and aspirations. Rancho falls in love with Pia (Kareena Kapoor) who is the daughter of a professor who does not have much respect for the three men – calling them three idiots. The story then takes several twists and turns over several years – all with comic parts. Critics have pointed
out how the film also is a social commentary on the           intense education system which pushes many students into suicide.

The film at the time of its release was one of the highest grossing box office hits. The film also went on to win many awards, winning six Filmfare Awards including best film and best director, ten Star Screen Awards and sixteen IIFA awards. It was well received in China and Korea and other countries.

Admission is free.
