Aspiring nurse, doctor and lawyer among Miss East Coast aspirants

Today The Scene takes a closer look at the contestants of the Miss East Coast pageant, who will compete for the title on December 1. The pageant focuses on developing and promoting the tourism and historical infrastructure on the ECD and strengthening cultural ties among communities.

Neeshana Alicia Bastiani – Nabaclis
A student at the University of Guyana pursuing and Associate Degree in Tourism, this 20-year-old describes herself as a sophisticated young woman with a focused mind fuelled by confidence, integrity and ambition. She dreams on one day becoming an air hostess since she believes she has the potential to do anything.

Melica Callender – Better Hope
Representing the village of Better Hope is 16-year-old Melica Callender who loves modelling and outdoor sports. Her goal is to become a nurse because she has the desire at heart to serve her country and help those in need of her help.

Eksi Edwards – Buxton
Grace with beauty, intelligence, talent and an outstanding personality is 18-year-old Eksi Edwards. She is an aspiring lawyer who strongly believes in the value of work, the strength of friendship and the warmth of love.

Tomeika Thierens – Victoria
A proud representative of the Victoria Village which she describes to be an inspiration of future generations is 20-year-old Tomeika Thierens. She is currently studying towards an ordinary Diploma in Commerce at the Government Technical Institute. Her life’s pleasures are dancing, modelling, singing and sports.


Fehola Daliha Blair-Sandy – Golden Grove

Sixteen-year-old Fehola Blair-Sandy describes herself as a self-motivated, determined, brave and well-rounded individual with the passion for excellence. This beauty said that she prefers a natural look without any enhancements and that she can handle any constructive criticism to make her stronger.


Sheamma Hoppie – Beterverwagting

Friendly, outgoing, open-minded and determined – that is Ms Sheamma Hoppie representing the village of Beterverwagting. She aspires to become an immigration officer, a fashion designer and a true expression of Guyana’s soil. Her hobbies include dancing, cooking and outdoor sports.


Kimesha Niola Sarfiana Therlfall – Paradise

Inspired to be a doctor, Kimesha Therlfall is a self-motivated person by nature. She said she also wishes to increase development and transportation in rural tourism. A 16-year-old student at the Ann’s Grove Secondary School, she enjoys singing, dancing and reading. She proudly represents her village which she says caters for nature lovers.
