Greaves back at the helm of Houston FC

Incumbent Houston Stars Football Club President Charles Greaves was reelected to office unopposed when the club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday last at the Saints Recreational Facility, Carifesta Avenue.

Greaves upon being reelected to office stated that his goal is to facilitate the development of the institution.
“My intention is to work to develop the club and to achieve certain goals under my tenure which is to not only be competitive in the field of play but to win tournaments and to establish a nursery and youth setup,” he said.

Chaired by Gizmos and Gadgets Marketing Manager Ewart Sampson and observed by Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Assistant Secretary/Treasurer Charmaine Wade, the electoral congress officially commenced at 18:00 hrs.

Returning in the capacity of Vice–President was Rolston Trim, who was also reelected to office unopposed. Ray Canzius and Wayne Higgins were both confirmed in their nominated Secretary and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer positions respectively, unobstructed.

Sitting Treasurer Troy Ford will continue in this faculty for another term as he was voted in unopposed, whilst Lennox Reid was elected Public Relations Officer (PRO) unchallenged as serving PRO Deron McKinnon declined the nomination.

In the contested three committee member positions, Derick Junior, Dwight Ferguson and Walter Liverpool were all voted into office unopposed.

In an invited comment, GFA official and elections observer Wade stated, “While it wasn’t a perfect election in terms of the process, I was very impressed with the transparency, clarity and overall inclusiveness of the congress.”
