Helmet trick, hat-tricks highlight Pee Wee football

Tucville Primary defeated St. Sidwell’s 3-1 when the final group matches of the Petra Organization/Courts Guyana Incorporated in collaboration with Banks DIH Limited Pee Wee U11 football tourney continued at the Thirst Park ground yesterday.

Samona Williams, DeAndre Linton and Raheem Marques  scored for the winners in the first, 15th and 27th minutes respectively. Scoring for the losers was John Johnnie in the 37th minute.

Williams gave Tucville the perfect start, powering his right-footed strike from just inside the area to the bottom right hand corner.

Miguel Stoll almost levelled the score line in the 11th minute for St. Sidwell’s from a right sided free kick only for his strike to be tipped around the bar by Tucville goalkeeper Kedar Chester.

The lead was then doubled four minutes later as Linton smashed his right footed effort from inside the left side of the field to the bottom left hand corner after running onto a clearance by defender Colwin Best.

Shot stopper Chester would come to the rescue of the Tucville backline, denying Stoll again in the 19th minute with his legs as the half finished.

Tucville would add to their lead seven minutes into the second period with Marques smashing his left footed effort from just inside the right of the penalty area to the top left hand corner of the goal.

St. Sidwell’s would cut the deficit to one as Johnnie stabbed home a right footed shot from a resulting goal mouth scramble.

A constant threat to the Tucville backline, Stoll would be denied once again moments before the conclusion of the game as his right footed strike was saved by a diving Chester low to his right side.

In other results, J.E. Burnham defeated West Field Primary via walkover while Success Elementary and St. Angelas played to a nil-all draw.

St. Margaret’s and St. Ambrose played to a 3-3 draw. Jermaine Padmore led St. Ambrose with a hat trick in the 12th, 26th and 28th minutes. On target for the Camp street side was Diego Briton in the 22nd and 30th minutes and Malachi Edwards in the 29th minute.

Enterprise Primary, through goals from Rasheed Evans and Jeffrey Blair in the second and 31st minutes defeated Green Acres Primary. Sion Jeffers scored for the losers in the 34th minute.

St. Puis led by a Bevney Mark helmet trick in the eight, 11th, 25th, 28th minutes crushed Winfer Gardens 5-0. Kamacy Davis completed the result with a 14th strike.

Tyreek Saunders netted a brace in the 11th and 14 minutes as North Georgetown mauled South Ruimveldt 5-0. Joshua Denny, Oren Williams and Michael Joseph  also scored  in the fourth, sixth and 15th minutes correspondingly.

St. Stephen’s led by goals from Rondell Jordan and Mosea Parkinson in the 11th and 13th minutes defeated Stella Maris 2-0 while West Ruimveldt  edged St. Gabriel’s 1-0 compliments of a Ryan James 39th minute conversion.

East La Penitence defeated Sophia Primary 3-1 through goals from Fabian Boters, Leroy Yaw and Andre Hope in the 11th, 19th and 31st minute respectively. Travis Smith netted for the losers in the 22nd minute.

Marian Academy thumped Redeemer Primary 3-0 led by a Demetrius DeAbreu hat trick in the 13th, 15th and 32nd minutes respectively.

In the final fixture of the day, F.E. Pollard defeated Ketley Primary 4-2. Quincy Williams, Makhaiya Jervis, Tramel McCurdy and Cordell Charles netted for the victors in the third, eight, 33rd and 38th minutes respectively.
On target for the losers were Jahima Messiah and Kevo Mallin in the sixth and 20th minutes respectively.
