According to a press release, directors Pam and Harry Harakh along with Vito Spatafora from Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada handed over the items to Carlton Joao and Helen Browman of the management committee of the hospital.

The Canada-based group began its association with Mercy Hospital as far back as 1998, when it arranged for cleft lip and palate surgery by visiting doctors.
