Bourne said that when he approached the Soesdyke junction he had noticed a number of people on the road outside a drinking spot and it appeared that there was a “party in session”.

He said that after the sudden impact, he parked his car and entered the premises inquiring who had thrown the bottle at his car.

Getting no response, has asked to speak to the owner of the business, who told him that he needed to speak to the promoter who hosted the event.

Unable to find that person Bourne went to the Timehri Police station where he made a report. He was escorted by policemen back to the club, but when they got there, the party had mysteriously ended and the place was closed up.

He said he later visited the location and met the bar’s owner who told him that the police should have knowledge of who the promoter was since they were had issued the licence for the party to be held.

Bourne said he went back to the station and was told that the event the police gave permission for was scheduled to be ended by 12:00 am. He said they offered no further information or assistance.

However, when Stabroek News contacted the police they revealed that an investigation has been launched into the matter.
