Two RKs security guards rewarded for bravery

Last Saturday, RK’s Guyana Securities Services awarded two of its guards for bravery in foiling an armed robber last December.

A release from the service said that during the Christmas shopping season, a popular shopping complex was attacked by an armed robber just as cash was being carried out of the building to a vehicle.

The robber disabled the vehicle and grabbed the money bag. The armed security guard, Nandalall Michael could not fire his weapon as there were numerous persons around so he slammed the door into the thief, surprising and hurting him.  The guard then grabbed his leg causing him to fall.  Michael held the robber even though he suffered several gun butts to the head.

Meanwhile security guard Helen Fresco retrieved the bag and swiftly took it to safety.

The service rewarded Nandalall Michael with a Certificate of Bravery and $30,000 cash.  Helen Fresco received a Certificate of Bravery and $15,000 cash.
They were commended for their professionalism and dedication.
