Man charged with threatening brother

A man was yesterday charged with using threatening language to his brother. The allegation against Brian Mattieson is that on February 13, at Princes Street, he made use of threatening language to Mark Mattieson.

Brian pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Mark told the court that his brother would curse the entire house and threaten to kill everyone.

He noted that he does not live in the same house with his brother but would go there from time to time to visit his elderly mother.

The prosecution did not object to Brian being released on bail, which was set at $25,000. He was also placed on a bond to keep the peace pending the determination of the matter, which will continue on March 11.
