George Cardario was stabbed to death by a close relative after he refused to let the man into his home, according to Crime Chief Seelall Persaud who said that while the perpetrator remains in police custody investigations are continuing.
Persaud, when contacted yesterday, told Stabroek News that Cardario, 51, lived in the same house in the Middle Mazaruni area with the suspect.
He said that the suspect went out and when he returned Cardario barred him from entering the house.
Thereafter, Cardario reportedly chucked the suspect who in turn stabbed him.
According to the police press release, the incident occurred around 03:30 hrs.
Police said that investigations have revealed that Cardario and another man had an argument during which he was fatally stabbed to his abdomen.
